Non stop Airbnb guests booked this month so busy changeover days.

Wwoofers Clem and Robin arrived to help out for a week and as experienced chefs made us all a delicious meal one evening. Karima, a wwoofer from France arrived and was joined by Isabel and Sietski, wwoofers from Holland.

Much was accomplished in a week with general weeding, potting up plants and building two more raised beds and a bed for the Kiwi plant in the polytunnel. 15kg of blueberries were harvested and frozen as well as some saved for eating! Our potatoes were also harvested and weeded to be stored for the coming months. Two tracks were cleared of brambles and overgrown vegetation making an easier pathway down the valley. Two more compost bins were made and four more vegetable covers were made.

James, Violet and Austin arrived for a week and a trip to the Carmarthen River Festival made where we took part in the Charity Duck Race and won first prize of £500!

Many seeds were harvested this month to be stored and plants repotted. Sietski and Karima helped James and Stuart to build a new patio for the house. A door and window were also removed from the utility room and a wall was rebuilt. Wood was moved from the barn to be stored in the cowshed making more space in the barn. The second crop of potatoes were harvested to be stored and some pears and rhubarb frozen.

Sietski and Isabel left and Karima helped Stuart on the Cegyn Hedyn Allotment one day where Stuart built a kitchen for the volunteers. Wild flowers were planted out in the family field, polytunnel field and near the bees. Strawberry runners were collected with many donated to friends and Cegyn Hedyn and strawberry runners were potted up.

Medicinal herbs were staked for support and seeds collected. Summer raspberries were pruned and some new shoots were replanted. The Loganberry was pruned and tied up. Cuttings from three varieties of hydrangeas were taken. Another 1.5kg of blueberries were harvested. Our last wwoofer, Karima, left at the end of a busy month.
