Blossoms, Beans & Big Ideas - From Festival Sparks to New Retreats

June has swept in with full arms, offering sunshine, soft rain, and the deep satisfaction of harvesting what we’ve so carefully nurtured. This month has truly been a celebration of the land’s abundance. After months of tending and care, our vegetable beds have come to life with delicious results: new potatoes, peas, broad beans, runner beans, broccoli, kale, garlic and more, all finding their way onto our plates and into our meals. The soft fruits have also begun to ripen with gusto, and our first rounds of strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, and raspberries have been picked and preserved, some eaten fresh and others tucked away in the freezer for future treats.

The land is radiant in colour as the early summer blooms paint in every corner. Daisies and primroses dance across the fields, while the gardens are alive with vibrant iris, poppies, and lilies, all glowing with life, thanks to the balance of warm sun and occasional stormy downpours.

A highlight of the month was our trip to Unearthed Festival, where we officially launched Geo Jam, our new mobile event dome. Set up as a 24-hour music jamming space, Geo Jam became a hub of creativity and connection, hosting a stream of musicians, spontaneous sessions, and beautiful moments shared. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and it’s now available to hire for your own event. If you're interested, you can find more information or make an enquiry here.

Back at Plas Y Maes, excitement continued to grow. Our new yoga mats and bolsters arrived, allowing us to prepare the Iachusol Enaid dome for its next retreat guests. Seeing the dome set and the field welcoming guests is a joyful milestone for us. Around the fire circle, we’ve now planted Mugwort, Wood Betony, Valerian, and Electric Daisies, joining the mint and wild herbs already thriving there, forming a fragrant herbal ring around the space where stories, songs, and stillness can unfold.

Our time at Unearthed didn’t just feed the Soul, it fed our vision. Inspired by the beautiful energy we shared there, we’ve decided to begin hosting our own retreats at Iachusol Enaid. These small, private retreats are perfect for groups of 5–12 friends who are looking to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect deeply with nature and each other. Offerings will include yoga, sound baths, bushcraft workshops, breathwork, meditation, guided walks, and the option of local excursions, all tailored to your group’s needs and intentions. If this speaks to you, we’d love to hear from you.

With bellies full, from the garden, inspiration blooming, and new steps being taken, June has been a beautiful turning point in the wheel of the year.

Until next time, from all of us and the active bees at Plas Y Maes
